The mission of SeeWrite is to create a place where students feel safe to tackle obstacles and accomplish all of their goals. We organise fun, special events beyond the classroom. At SeeWrite, we encourage our students to build their public speaking and social skills in order to boost their confidence. 

 

We specialise in Speech & Drama performances, Field Trips, Art Workshops, STEAM Workshops and a "Grammar Summer" Course.

We conduct STEAM training workshops for soon-to-graduate tertiary students. 

Our workshops incorporate every aspect of the STEAM education approach. STEAM is a modern and versataile pedagogical movement. We instruct future teachers on how to facilitate these lessons themselves.

Group Coloring

LEVEL 1 (K2)

Activities are designed to help your child to develop and practice fine motor skills through colouring, drawing lines and shapes. Helps to develop shape recognition, shows the child how to draw shapes and teach size words and their meanings as well as identifying basic colours. The acquisition of identifying rhymes in words and pictures. Recognition and forming the 26 upper and lower case letters of the alphabet. Students will recognize and write the numerals 1 to 10 and in number words from one to ten.

LEVEL 2 (K3)

Building a strong phonics foundation, starting with an awareness of the alphabet, understanding phonemic relationships and identifying the concepts of words and progressing onto word recognition. The emphasis is on short and long vowel sounds. Students will also develop the concepts of beginning and ending consonants which will be the building blocks of their English skills. Learning to recognize high-frequency words is an important step in learning to read.

LEVEL 3 (P1)

The focus in this level is aim at building a step-by-step approach to essay writing. Each booklet offers various instructions and reinforcement in an effective sequence for learning success. Students are first introduced to the basics of rearrangements of words to form a sentence. “Mind mapping” enables students to visualize their ideas clearly and help them making the right beginning by writing well-crafted sentences. They will have the ability to decode and recognize increasing complex words more accurately. Students are also exposed to wider knowledge of vocabulary, concepts and ideas. They learn skills that will enable them to read and write more independently. The reading required to do the exercises in the booklet will improve a student’s comprehension and writing skills.

LEVEL 4 (P2)

This level is designed to provide students with a systematic and progressive approach to essay writing. Each booklet aims at helping students with the essential skills needed for creative writing. Students will be trained to extend his/her vocabulary and at the same time, to be more aware of grammatical rules. Students continue to work on written English language conversations, topics, theme or subject before writing. The focus is on enhancing student’s word recognition fluency, and encourage free response and writing. Students extend their knowledge of the English language as they develop basic understanding of the elements of narrative texts.

LEVEL 5 (P3)

At this level, students will learn various units covering areas aiming to strengthen their writing ability. Students will develop their skills on descriptive, narrative, expository and imaginative compositions. They will develop a knowledge to differentiate and organize ideas using the methods of classification, comparison and contrast, successive order of two or more things.
After getting exposed to brainstorming for ideas, students can relate to a given situation and its possible outcomes and think and write creatively.

LEVEL 6 (P4)

Students are familiarised with the basic preparation of writing, covering the areas of brainstorming, pre-writing and creating topic sentences, which progress into structured paragraphs. This provides students with situations to think outside their usual classroom learning, enabling them to stretch their imagination. Additionally, this level encompasses the use of vast vocabulary base, basic grammar, and information texts cover various topics. By introducing writing methodology of a story, reviewing of setting, characters and plots, encourages young writers to organize the basic skeleton of a story. This level will also focus on the style of writing which includes descriptive, narrative, informative and imaginative composition. Students will find themselves equipped with the knowledge to discuss interesting and challenging questions in their free writings.

LEVEL 7 (P5) & LEVEL 8 (P6)

Students will be taught to expand their writing abilities through learning materials that build on skills taught in the previous levels. Through targeted writing activities, students will be required to use more advanced and descriptive wording in their work. Challenging exercises and open-ended questions will motivate students to express their opinions and ideas about various topics. They will be required to research and validate facts from various sources such as reference books and the Internet.

The students will be introduced to different forms of writing such as plays, songs, poetry and comic strips. There will also be mindfulness exercises that will aid in their reflective, analytical and creative thinking processes. All these exercises are designed to be fun and engaging to the students.

The ultimate goal of the program is to inspire students to always aim for the best in all their writing endeavors so they become independent and confident writers.

At the end of Level 8, students will write their own short stories which will be published by SeeWrite and showcased at the learning centre.
